Thanks for the comment. Have you tried any of the new Wire features such as enhanced 4-axis cutting or refined tabs?

While Lathe and Wire can always use more functions - as all software can - if you do any multi-axis cutting (the subject of this post), I think you'll find that the items we've introduced deliver some dramatic benefits.

There are many choices other than blocking the model with annoying pop up dialog boxes which is the worst choice possible. If the data is so overwhelming that it doesn't fit well in the SolidWorks Feature Manager then this can be done:

I believe the Mastercam dialog boxes are better than putting all of the toolpath parameter choices in the feature manager tree. Just as PDMWorks requires a lot of data choices, thus needing a dialog, I never noticed the Toolpath dialog boxes interfering with the SolidWorks model. I guess CNC Software simply chose to keep the interface familiar to existing Mastercam users. Doesn't bother me.

$1,800 per course or $3,600 total for both courses is not affordable training for a machinist. It's not even close to being affordable.

Mike Mattera's Mastercam training CD's run about $175 each. I own all of them and I didn't spend anywhere near $1,800 let alone $3,600.

If Mike Mattera's high quality affordable Mastercam training didn't exist I would not be able to get a job programming with Mastercam.

By far the best Mastercam training I've ever received is from Mike Mattera of Tips For Manufacturing. He also does the Mastercam University training. The quality of his training doesn't compare to my local VAR who I like but he's not in the same league as Mike Mattera is training wise. Also, for many years now my local VAR has not offered surface toolpath training. I'm sorry but flying from San Diego, CA to Connecticut for training isn't in the cards for me and this applies to many other machinists as well.

The reason I asked for video done by either you or Mike Mattera is that I trust it won't be falsely sped up.

The video from the link I posted isn't falsely sped up. NC Simul is really that fast! Mastercam badly needs something like NC Simul built in for tombstone machining because as it stands now Mastercam doesn't have any kind of practical solution for quickly and easily doing solid cut part verification for many different kinds parts on a tombstone. ModuleWorks Simulation has got a long, long way to go for this this type of work compared to NC Simul.

Recommend taking Mastercam 5-axis training in order to best evaluate our product.
Videos can be manipulated to run at any speed, you need to see and experience Mastercam's machine simulation live, in person.
It will be way faster that NCSimul and it will not have any of those collisions because Port Expert creates smooth, efficient and collision free toolpaths every time.

Mastercam For SolidWorks needs to do a much better job at integrating into the SolidWorks user interface!

Years ago SolidWorks got rid of the annoying pop up dialog Windows and started putting most of the data entry fields in the Feature Manager. CNC Software needs to do the same thing for Mastercam For SolidWorks and eliminate these annoying pop up dialog Windows that block the model and it's toolpaths and instead fully integrate into the SolidWorks Feature Manager.
